Happiness is victory!

• ·     In this picture, I am trying to express happiness in my life. I acheived this by giving a calm and peaceful effect.(eg: the flowers)

  ·     The importance of happiness in life, especially for those people, who never achieve happiness are the ones who complain whenever they’re awake, and whenever they’re asleep, they are thinking about what to complain about tomorrow.

  ·     I used filter>(i) filter gallery >texture>grain. Then I changed the intensity and contrast as required.

  ·     (ii) filter>digimare>embeded watermark.

  ·     (iii) filter>blur for the entire white spots.

  ·     I also used: layer>layer style>opacity and fill opacity in order to reflect on the flowers.

  ·     I used assorted brushes in order to highlight some borders/lines in between the colours.

a) What quailities of your magazine cover make it effective?

What makes my magazine cover effective is that the bright colours and bold letters I used. Secondly it describes the bollywood stardust awards ceremony 2007 which took place in Amsterdam. The bollywood actress shilpa shetty holding an award, which describes the awards ceremony. Even the other two bollywood actresses:

(i) beautiful and talented amrita roy

(ii) the bollywood queen aishwariya bachhan

which is really eye catching.

The text on the cover is easy to read and straight forward. 

b) What was the order of hierarchy you were trying to acheive for the elements on your magazine cover?

The order of hierarchy that I was trying to achieve was

(i) the title
(ii) the featured story lines

(iii) shilpa’s image holding an award in her hand

(iv) the winners of stardust awards -2007
